Organic analysis

Organic analysis is concerned with the detection, purity, composition, and structure elucidation of organic materials.

Our services in this area range from the analysis of plastics and elastomers, identification of organic coatings, oils and greases to determining undesirable residues in intermediate and finished products.

Infrared spectroscopic analyses

FTIR spectroscopy with an ATR cell is used for quantitative determination of known substances or structure elucidation of unknown substances.

Photometry

UV/VIS spectroscopy is a photometric method which uses the electromagnetic waves of ultraviolet (UV) and visible (VIS) light to check purity and determine concentration.

Gas chromatography & mass spectrometry

When gas chromatography (GC) is used in combination with mass spectrometry (MS), GC is used to separate the components of the mixture under analysis and MS is used to identify and, if necessary, quantify the individual components.

Gas chromatography & flame ionisation

When gas chromatography (GC) is used in combination with a flame ionisation detector (FID), GC is used to separate the components of the mixture under analysis and FID is used to identify the organic compounds.

High performance liquid chromatography

HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) is used not only to separate substances but also to identify and quantify the substances against standards.
